The Department of Humanities and Sciences plays a vital role at SEECS by providing comprehensive knowledge of basic sciences and promoting humanitarian values. The department contributes directly to the mission of SEECS by fostering the holistic development of students and nurturing a commitment to lifelong learning. We are privileged to educate and groom some of the best and brightest students at NUST, by offering them a strong academic foundation in Mathematics, Physics, Communication skills, Technical Writing, Economics, and Professional Ethics. This multidisciplinary approach equips students to become well-informed professionals and effective leaders in an increasingly technology-driven society. The department delivers approximately 30% of the total curriculum in accordance with the guidelines of the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and the Higher Education Commission (HEC). In addition to teaching, the Department of Humanities and Sciences makes a significant contribution to the research profile of SEECS.

Welcome to the Department of Humanities and Sciences at SEECS. We are a team of highly qualified faculty dedicated to imparting comprehensive knowledge of basic sciences and humanities. The department plays a vital role in supporting the core academic programs of Faculty of Computing (FoC) and Faculty of Electrical Engineering (ECE), ensuring strong interdisciplinary integration across SEECS. Our curriculum constitutes approximately 30% of the total coursework for ECE and FoC programs, in accordance with the requirements of the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and the Higher Education Commission (HEC). Alongside delivering quality education, our faculty members are actively engaged in research and scholarly activities. The department hosts a multidisciplinary research group comprising HEC-approved supervisors with expertise in Analysis, Fixed Point Theory, Fluid Mechanics, Partial Differential Equations, General Relativity, Condensed Matter Physics, Quantum Mechanical Systems and Discourse Analysis. Collectively, our faculty has contributed over 200 research publications to the research profile of SEECS. We aspire for our graduating students to develop strong mathematical foundations, effective management skills, and deep-rooted humanitarian values, enabling them to meet the challenges of rapid technological advancement.
