Summary

Professor Dr. Rafia Mumtaz, a distinguished scholar, received the NUST Endowment Fund Scholarship for her MS studies (2004-2006) and a scholarship for her Ph.D. studies at the University of Surrey, UK. Currently, she is working as a Professor and Head of the Software Engineering Department at NUST School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS), Islamabad, Pakistan. She has excelled in academia and research, publishing over 75 papers and earning accolades like the HEC Best University Teacher Award (2022), Best University Teacher Award (2022), School Best University Teacher Award (2022), School Best University Researcher Award (2022), School Best University Innovator Award (2022), School Best Researcher Award (2018), and inclusion in the Directory of Productive Scientists of Pakistan (2017). She's a senior IEEE member and has collaborations with esteemed international research groups. Her pioneering work in precision agriculture earned her the Women of Wonders Award (2021). Dr. Rafia has secured grants over Rs. 170 million and created the NUST-Coventry Internet of Things Lab, the first in NUST's history. Her applied research in environmental monitoring has yielded patents and high-impact solutions. Her mentorship has guided students to international success, and she remains dedicated to advancing science and engineering. Her patents and accomplishments underscore her exceptional drive and scholarly excellence.
