Ethical AI for All
-National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), in collaboration with The Inclusion Lab and Digital Intellix 4PL, proudly hosted a multistakeholder dialogue on “Ethical AI for All” at the Deep Learning Laboratory DLL, NUST. This high-level forum brought together policymakers, innovators, industry leaders, and UN representatives to tackle some of the most pressing questions in AI today, from eliminating bias in datasets to ensuring AI solutions reach rural and marginalized communities.
Opening remarks by Dr. Syed Irtiza Ali Shah, Principal SINES, set the stage for a conversation focused on responsibility, inclusivity, and innovation. Mr. Julian Gorman, Head of GSMA APAC (Asia Pacific), emphasized the urgent need for stronger digital infrastructure to support inclusive AI growth, while Ms. Afke Bootsman Snr. Strategic Planner UN shared the UN’s vision for Ethical AI. Michael Schulz, Advisor & Board Director at The Inclusion Lab, presented nine governance priorities for Inclusive AI. Dr. Faisal Shafait and I (Momina Moetesum) showcased how NUST is leading the charge in ethical AI adoption through cutting-edge research and partnerships.
The dialogue was enriched by the active presence of industry representatives from Ericsson, Telenor, Ignite, Khan Academy, and more, creating a platform where academia, industry, and policymakers aligned on shared goals.
Coming just days after the approval of the National AI Policy 2025, this event marks a pivotal step towards building AI systems that are not only innovative but also equitable, transparent, and beneficial to all Pakistanis.
