We are pleased to announce that Prof. Dr. Syed Ali Hassan has been awarded project funding under the prestigious and highly competitive NATO Science for Peace and Security (SPS) Program. The project, titled “Shielding HAPS against Intelligent Link Level Attacks,” has been allocated EUR 381,285 for a period of three years. The project deals with finding innovative solutions for upcoming 6G satellite communications systems where high altitude platforms, serving as base stations, may suffer from security vulnerabilities.
Prof. Ali will lead the initiative as the NATO Partner Country Project Director, working alongside Dr. Sohaib J Solaija from Gebze Technical University, Türkiye, who will serve as the NATO Country Project Director. We are proud to mention that Dr. Sohaib is an alumnus of NUST and remained a student of Prof. Ali at both UG and MS levels at SEECS-NUST.
NATO’s support and financial backing serve as a testament to the project’s scientific merit while also emphasizing Pakistan’s strategic and technological relevance in the international arena. We extend our profound congratulations to Prof. Ali and the entire project team on this outstanding achievement!
