Summary

Dr. Usman Zabit did his PhD in Microwaves, Electro-Magnetics, and Optoelectronics (MEMO) at the Laboratory of Optoelectronics for Embedded Systems, INPT, University of Toulouse, France in 2010. He did his Masters in MEMO (Specialization in Optoelectronics) from INPT, France in 2006 and completed B.Sc. Electrical Engineering (with Honors) in 2001 from UET Taxila, Pakistan. After his PhD, he was awarded 2 year funding by French National Agency for Research to pursue Post-Doctoral research. He then worked on the design of real-time embedded sensors using laser diode based optical feedback interferometry at LAAS-CNRS, Toulouse, France. He has published 60+ international peer-reviewed journal- and conference-papers with a Cumulative Impact Factor of > 100. Furthermore, his research has led to International Patents, published in France, 38 European Union Countries and USA. He worked as Associate Professor (Nov 2012 to August 2017) and Head of Department (July 2013 to August 2017) of Electrical Engineering at Riphah International University, Islamabad. He was a member of National Curriculum Review Committee (NCRC) for Electrical Engineering, HEC, 2017. He has also contributed as an external member of Board of Studies (BoS) of Department of Photonic Engineering, GIKI, Swabi and of BoS of Department of Electronic Engineering, UET Taxila. He also continues to contribute as expert program evaluator (PEV) for Electrical engineering under the umbrella of Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). He was selected as Invited Professor, INP Toulouse, France 2018 by Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse (INPT) for the academic year 2018. He is HEC Approved PhD Supervisor, Pakistan, and is a Senior Member of IEEE USA, and Lifetime Member of PEC Pakistan.
