In The Spotlights SEECS class of 2017 sets a benchmark for Alumni giving!
On 22nd January 2021, the graduates of SEECS 2017, signed an MoU at NUST for establishing one of the largest batch scholarship fund as a class gift under NEED initiative. Dr. Nassar Ikram, Pro Rector RIC, and Dr. Osman Hassan Principal SEECS signed the MoU and applauded the spirit of giving that is the driving force behind success of the program.
‘SEECS Class of 2017 Fund’ was initiated last year, and is supporting 9 financially challenged students at NUST. Through this MoU, the class has now established an endowment fund through seed contribution, which will support many students during the lifetime of the university, hence making a sustainable impact in many lives.
Behind this initiative is a young group of brilliant alumni who have shown an outstanding spirit of philanthropy. During the agreement signing ceremony, the batch was represented by Ms. Maria Aftab, Mr. Ali Tariq, Mr. Kamil Hamad, Mr. Shees Usman, Ms. Amna Aziz, Ms. Wajiha Khan, and Ms. Mona Ali. Notable mentions who couldn’t join us for the occasion include Mr. Qambar Rizvi and Mr. Oneeb ul Haq Khan.
Principal SEECS Dr. Osman Hasan appreciated the efforts of the batch and encouraged them to keep the example alive as many other batches will seek inspiration from them.
Alumni run funds always hold a special place for the alma mater, as it is through the joint work of this family that we can uplift the university and play our role in building the nation.
