SEECS BEE student, Mr Rana Shahzaib Ur Rehman has successfully defended his bachelor’s thesis, titled “Design of Dispersive Delay Lines in Silicon Photonic Chips,” at the University of Málaga, Spain.
He was awarded Honours, the highest distinction, in recognition of his outstanding research contributions. His work introduces novel structures that achieve a sixfold increase in bandwidth compared to the state of the art, marking a significant advancement in dispersive delay lines.
Rana Shahzaib conducted his research during a four-month exchange program at the Photonics & RF Research Lab, University of Málaga. Previously, he completed his summer internship in photonics under the supervision of Dr Usman Zabit at ESDAC lab SEECS. We congratulate him on this remarkable achievement and look forward to his continued success in the field
