Aawaz AI Tech, a start-up founded by Dr. Seemab Latif from NUST-SEECS, has won Asian Development Bank global challenge of creating alternative data pipeline for Digital Financial Inclusion of Women’s Businesses in Pakistan. 57 teams from all around the world submitted
their solutions for this technology innovation challenge. After several elimination rounds, ADB selected the top 4 startups for pitching in the the grand finale on 9 th of March 2023. Among the finalists were Almond financials (United States), GFI FinTech (Malaysia), Dastak
accelerator (Pakistan) and Aawaz AI Tech (Pakistan). Aawaz won the challenge and will be receiving $50,000 seed grant for solution development and a pilot with partnering financial institutions from Pakistan. Aawaz AI will also be working with ADB AI Labs and WFX-
Manila (Women Financial Exchange) to assist banks and financial institutions in making informed and gender considerate lending decisions.
