Shahzad Younis received the B.Sc. degree in computer engineering from National University of Science and Technology, Pakistan, in 2002. He completed his Masters in Electrical Engineering from University of Engineerng and Technology Taxila, in 2005 and earned his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from University Technology PETRONAS in 2009. His PhD thesis was funded from PETRONAS Research which is one of the famous compnay in Oil and Gas sector in world.

His major reasearch areas are Applied and Statistical Signal Srocessing, Copressive sensing, Convex Optimization for Machine Learning /Deep Learning, urdu text processing, smart grids, adversarial attacks, IoT and Financial Data processing. He is also working on data fusion using adaptive filters and optimization for 5G communication, optimized FPGA based algorithm development for radar signal processing.

Currently He is working on multiple funded projects in the area of Machine/Deep Learning and Internet of Things for both AC/DC power monitoring and agriculture related applications. He is also colloborating with Industurty, Govt. departments and Acdemia on these project which involved Channab Engineering group Faisalabad, Water Management Department Punjab and USP_CAS (US-Aid Funded Projects)

Moreover He is also involved in providing consultency services for different local and international organization in the field of Signal Processing, embedded systems, IoT and ML/DL. At present He is heading one of the active Lab within SEECS/NUST which is "Adaptive Signal Proessing (ASP) Lab where are dynamic team of researchers is working on multiple funded projects [Link:asp.seecs.nust.edu.pk]
