15% of top merit position holders in NUST entry test are awarded waiver of tuition fee for the 1st semester (6 months) on joining respective disciplines.
Students who obtain semester GPA of 3.5 and above out of 4.0 are provided financial assistance on sliding scale maximum up to 75% of tuition fee.
The needy and brilliant students who cannot pay the tuition fee and those from backward areas & cannot pay hostel charges may avail 50% deferment facility after first semester having GPA 2.25/4.00:
The application must contain details like, months of deferment, amount to be deferred, amount of monthly installment, etc.
Applications along with documentary proof from parents for in-affordability must reach Exams branch on half yearly basis i.e. 15th May & 15th November every year.
The cases will be considered during financial committee meeting at HQ NUST in the presence of the applicants.
If agreed to, the students will have to provide the following documents:
Agreement form on stamp paper worth Rs 100/-
Guarantee on stamp paper worth Rs 100/-
Ownership of property in original
Copies of ID cards of guarantor, witnesses & applicant
HEC-Japanese Govt Need Based Scholarship Program as and when offered.
Some philanthropist organizations have agreed to provide scholarships to orphans and disabled studying in NUST. Such students will be informed on how to apply once they are selected by NUST.
University/Institute endeavors to be in touch with charitable organizations. Needy students are awarded scholarships as and when scholarships offered by such organizations.
Students may also apply at their own for any other scholarship such as Infaq Foundation, UGC, Quaid-e-Azam scholarship and by Ministry of Education.
