Student project "TreQuant" wins accolades at P@sha ICT awards & APICTA, Indonesia

Regional Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards, which aim to increase ICT awareness in the community and assist in bridging the digital divide, for the year 2014 were held in Jakarta, Indonesia on 27th-30th November. Participants from 17 different countries presented their ideas and projects in 17 different categories. It is a matter of great Pride that Team Pakistan were endowed with 2 Gold Awards and 3 Silver Awards. Team “Trequant” representing Pakistan in the Tertiary Student Project Category won a Silver. This team was also the Tertiary Student Project category winner for P@SHA ICT Award 2014.

The idea is brought forward by a team of three undergrad student currently pursuing Electrical Engineering. Fawad Ejaz Bhatti, Kulsoom Rao and Usman Shabbir students of senior year at NUST-SEECS started working on this project as summer internship under the kind mentorship of Dr. Hammad Cheema.

Trequant has the honor of being the only team out of 11 Idea Pitches who were offered mentorship by the top notch entrepreneurs at Jumpstart’s event Shepard’s Pie held in FAST University on September 20, 2014 and were the only team who were offered mentorship by the top notch entrepreneurs. Trequant also made it to the top 7 selected teams in Google for Entrepreneur’s Week held on October 23, 2014 and received mentorship by seven established entrepreneurs from IT industry.

Trequant also has to its name the award for best idea presentation at Pakistan-US Alumni Network’s Event Global Entrepreneurship Week-Pakistan.
