Uzair Akbar a Student of SEECS is selected to Participate in ITCSE-INC Winter School 2017 at CUH China.

NThe ITCSC-INC Winter School is a week-long series of lectures and academic activities for undergraduate students from universities across Asia. It takes place in January every year and is hosted by the Institute of Theoretical Computer Science and Communication (ITCSC) and the Institute of Network Coding (INC) at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Only 18 students were selected this year. Uzair Akbar from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, is the only student that was selected from Pakistan.

The winter school program combines academic learning, problem solving, and cultural exchange. The lectures, which cover topics in the theory of computation and communications, are delivered by renowned professors. The faculty at INC and ITCSC is highly distinguished. Professor R.W. Yeung is considered to be one of the pioneering researchers in the field of Network Coding and has written several seminal papers in the domain. Professor Andrew YAO, recipient of the prestigious Turing Award and the Director of ITCSC, also attended the program. The alumni of the winter school hail from highly prestigious institutions from all across Asia. CUHK itself ranks in the top 20 of the world in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science as per QS Ranking. More detail about the winter school and CUHK can be found at ( )
