International Interns under IAESTE Chapter for the year 2013-2014
I spent two months in Islamabad, Pakistan while working as an intern in one of the best universities of Pakistan; NUST. I was associated with an ongoing membrane project in Institute of Environmental Science and Engineering (IESE). I was new to the environment and project but I was pleased to see how my partners helped me throughout my stay at the work place and assisted me with their knowledge and support on every project that I worked on.
This provided me with a great chance to gain excellent knowledge and experience by working on the project itself and from the experience of many professional people working with me, in addition for making personal connections and networking.
I had always heard a lot about Pakistan in news and media, however, one cannot truly understand a country unless you visit in person and get a chance to live with the locals of the place. It turned out that Pakistan is a unique country in its culture with lots of local languages, beautiful traditions and stunning customs. It has places with extreme geographic conditions as well. Especially the Northern Areas of Pakistan are exceptionally beautiful and people over there are very welcoming and accommodating.
I am thankful to IAESTE Pakistan for providing me with the opportunity to visit Pakistan including Islamabad, Lahore and Azad Kashmir. Hopefully, I am planning to come back to Pakistan to explore more of its beauty and visit my friends in Islamabad.
