Dr. Muhammad Arsalan from Saudi Aramco Delivers Seminar on Upstream Oil & Gas Challenges and Applications

Dr. Muhammad Arsalan from Saudi Aramco visited NUST-SEECS (NUST School of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science) and RIMMS (NUST Research Institute for Microwave and Millimeter-Wave Studies) and on 29th March, 2017 to deliver a seminar on Upstream Oil and Gas Challenges & Applications. In addition to his talk, he has also discussed the prospects of possible collaborative projects and support for supervision. HOD-RIMMS Dr. Hammad Mehmoood Cheema welcomed Dr. Muhammad Arsalan and showed him the key research facilities at RIMMS i.e. anechoic chamber, EMC/EMI pre-compliance and microwave research laboratories. Dr. Arsalan appreciated the available research facilities at RIMMS being an academic institute.
During his talk at SEECS, he elaborated the industry’s challenges to create, discover and deploy the right technologies to ensure reliable, efficient and sustainable production of oil and gas. In particular, he highlighted the active role of Saudi Aramco’s in creating innovative and high impact solutions in upstream oil and gas sensing applications. He concluded the talk with a few exciting and challenging far reaching ideas followed by an active Q&A session.
The visit proved to be very successful and fruitful and will be a step further towards the initiation of exciting and challenging collaborative work.
